Dr. Keshav Prasad Y. V.
Dr. Keshav Prasad Y. V. is Chief Laparoscopic Surgeon at the Mangala Institute of Laparoscopic Surgery (MILS) and Associate Professor of Surgery at KMC Mangalore. In July 2010, he performed Mangala Hospital's first Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) — removing a diseased gall bladder through a single 2cm incision at the umbilicus.
He holds fellowship training in Minimal Access Surgery from the Association of Surgeons of India, Baroda (2008), completed advanced laparoscopy training at the Ethicon Institute, Chennai, and holds the GyanBurman Fellowship in Hepatobiliary & Liver Transplant Surgery from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi (June 2011).
His special interests include laparoscopic hernia surgery, laparoscopic cancer surgery, obesity (bariatric) surgery, and Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery — advanced, minimally invasive techniques that mean smaller incisions, less post-operative pain and faster recovery for suitable patients.
