That same team provides comprehensive, non-emergency orthopaedic and spinal care, backed by a panel of experienced orthopaedic surgeons.
Our operation theatres are equipped with fully radiolucent fracture tables, two high-frequency C-arm image intensifiers, an operating microscope, head-light and loupe magnification, vascular and microsurgery sets, and a complete range of plating, nailing and external-fixator systems for different bones — the infrastructure needed to move a trauma patient from the emergency room into definitive fixation without delay. For joint and soft-tissue work, a full Storz arthroscopy set with shaver systems supports procedures such as meniscectomy and ACL reconstruction.
Beyond trauma, the department manages spine disease across its full range — from a simple discectomy to complex anterior reconstruction — and offers two procedures we consider genuine achievements for patients with spinal conditions: Vertebroplasty for painful osteoporotic spinal fractures, and Laminoplasty for spinal cord compression. Post-operative recovery is supported by our Physiotherapy department and, where needed, dedicated ICU back-up.

A complete arthroscopy system with shaver support allows selected joint conditions to be treated through small keyhole incisions. Meniscal surgery, ligament repair and ACL reconstruction aim to improve visualisation while limiting unnecessary disruption of surrounding soft tissue.
Vertebroplasty stabilises selected painful osteoporotic vertebral fractures through a small image-guided access route. Laminoplasty creates additional space for a compressed cervical spinal cord while preserving movement, with treatment selected according to the level and extent of narrowing.
When conservative care and joint-preserving treatment are no longer sufficient, surgery may include hip or knee replacement, microdiscectomy or complex spinal reconstruction. Recovery is supported through coordinated pain management, mobilisation and Physiotherapy follow-through.

No. Many fractures heal well with closed reduction and cast immobilisation. Surgery — nailing, plating or external fixation — is reserved for unstable, displaced or complex fractures where non-surgical treatment would not restore alignment and function.
Vertebroplasty is a minimally invasive procedure for painful spinal fractures, common in osteoporosis. Bone cement is injected through a small needle into the fractured vertebra, giving immediate pain relief and restoring some of the lost bone height, without open surgery.
Most patients begin walking with support within a day or two of hip or knee replacement, with structured physiotherapy over the following weeks. Full recovery and return to normal activity typically takes a few months, depending on the joint and the patient's overall health.
Arthroscopy is done under anaesthesia and is far less painful than open joint surgery, thanks to the small keyhole incisions used. Most patients experience mild post-operative discomfort, manageable with medication and a guided rehabilitation programme.
